What will the new cost to customers be for calling 1850, 1890, 0818 or 076 NGNs?
From 1 December 2019, calls to any 1850, 1890, 0818 or 076 NGN will cost no more than calling an ordinary landline number. If a caller has a bundle of call minutes that includes calls to landlines, calls to these NGNs will also be included in their bundle. There will be no separate charge for calling these NGNs unless the caller has used up their call bundle or does not have a call bundle that includes landline calls. Calls to 1850, 1890, 0818 and 076 NGNs will be charged or deducted from bundles on a per minute basis. We will be informing our customers about the new tariffs for NGNs.
Will the tariff changes make calls more expensive?
In general, the change will make the cost of calling NGNs lower as they will be included in the caller's bundle of call minutes. The changes to NGN tariffs means calls to 1850 numbers will be charged per minute, rather than per call as is currently the case. In limited cases, if a caller's bundle of call minutes has been used up and the caller is dialling an 1850 'out-of-bundle' they may experience a higher charge than before. However, this is unlikely to impact the vast majority of callers. . In addition, the 1850 range will be withdrawn by 1 January 2022.
