Pure Telecom predicts €4.3M from broadband service

  • New Purely Broadband service is designed to save money by enabling customers who don't have a land-line to access high speed and fibre broadband
  • Two month commercial trial saw 400 customers sign-up for broadband-only service
  • Pure Telecom is aiming to secure 10,000 new customers, worth €4,320,000, in the first 12 months
  • Up to 100Mb fibre broadband available to 1.1 million homes and businesses in Ireland, covering more of Ireland than any other provider.

Pure Telecom, the Irish-owned telecoms company, today launched its new broadband-only service, Purely Broadband. The service offers up to 100Mb/s fibre broadband and the decision to launch was made after a two month commercial trial, which saw 400 customers sign up. The service makes fibre broadband available to customers who don’t have a land-line.

Pure Telecom expects to secure 10,000 new customers in the first 12 months following today’s launch, delivering additional annual revenues of 4,320,000. First year revenues from the initial 400 customers will be 173,000.

The broadband-only service is in response to a very positive customer response to its market trial, as consumers seek fibre broadband for faster, more reliable and more economical internet connectivity.

Paul Connell, head of operations, Pure Telecom said, Broadband has come a very long way in the last few years. The world has changed, and many people are seeking high-speed broadband and don't have a telephone landline. The majority of the people we are targeting in this segment never had landline because they have cable TV. We believe that this is one of the best customer-driven innovations yet and we expect that it will significantly disrupt the market.

For us, it is all about value added service and that’s why we decided to place no usage limits on the service to allow customers to simultaneously connect to as many devices as they wish. This is perfect for some home workers, heavy users and families sharing a connection.

Our services aren’t constrained by a single network, which means that our customers get the best service and value mix possible. We can access all leading networks, including eircom, BT, Verizon and Magnet. We cover more of Ireland than any other provider and our customers know they will get the best customer service and the best fit solution. It is like dealing with a telecoms broker whose goal is to help customers to reduce costs without the hassle of shopping around.

“We are constantly on the look-out for new services and products that will deliver better value and more options for customers.
